We took Rich to Portland for the day to celebrate and it was our first road trip with two kids.
As it now takes a small army to get us all out the door, we got off to a late start but made it there by lunch time. We ate at this awesome place called The Grilled Cheese Grill. Portland is well known for their fantastic food carts and this one takes the cake for atmosphere but they also have gluten-free bread! We recommend the Southside or the Pops.
We did some shopping, lots of driving around (ugh), and ended the night at Deschutes Brewery.
We love Portland. Living in a small town, it's great to get over to the "big city" where food choices abound and there's always something fun going on. But no matter where we are, doing things as a family is the best adventure of all!
