Double Whammy

Sunday was filled with celebration because it was my first Mothers Day and our 6th anniversary.
Rich made me breakfast in bed (chocolate chip pancakes, mmmm...). We then packed up and headed out to a local lake where Max could expend some energy and we enjoyed the scenery.

That night we had a wonderful dinner over at Rich's sister's house and celebrated with Rich's mom and step-dad, also. We had a great time Bbq-ing tri-tip (Santa Maria style) and just hanging out.

Our Anniversary this year was a little bitter-sweet. We've gone to Astoria to celebrate every year since we moved to Oregon. Well, it would have been a little difficult this year with a 2 week old!

Instead we stayed close to home and went out to dinner, Tayden's first night out...he slept the whole time.

Rich got my favorite chocolates from Elbow Chocolates to celebrate as has been tradition (what a yummy one huh?!).

The night ended with Tayden's first bottle. It was a bit more quiet than years past, but with our little bundle in our arms, it was all we could ask for!

Bye Jade

Jade, Rich's truck, sold over the weekend. It was bittersweet to see her go as she's been such a fantastic truck.
Rich got the truck when we first met and was sad at the thought that he wouldn't be able to give it to our kid to drive. Thought we'd share a few memories from the past 10 years:

Singles Awareness Day Remembered

I remember one Valentines Day in 4th grade where my boyfriend brought me a plate full of stale chocolates. We didn't last long.
I remember one Valentines Day in college when my mom sent my roommate and I a care package with heart underwear in it. They were suprisingly comfortable.
I remember one Valentines Day when Rich made me chocolate covered peanut butter bon bons. We've lasted :)

I remember one Valentines Day in 5th grade where I didn't get a card from a girl in my class I had a crush on. I was heart broken.
I remember one Valentines Day when I took Christen out to a romantic dinner overlooking the ocean and we had our first kiss.
I remember one Valentines Day when we first moved to Oregon and we had a fabulous dinner at Timberline Lodge. On the drive home, I took a wrong turn due to snow and didn't realize it until an hour later down the road.
